Bye Bye DOMA

DOMA, the Defense Of Marriage Act, was struck down as unconstitutional.

Doing a little happy dance in my chair for all my Gay and Lesbian friends.

The name, Defense Of Marriage Act, actually sickens me. It’s also very contradictory; we’re “defending” an institution by making it inaccessible to certain adult, taxpaying citizens. It’s like being in a country club and not wanting blacks to join, so you’re defending your country-club membership against having to be associated with “those people.”

It’s disgusting and bigoted and I’m glad the Supreme Court has seen this.

It’s too bad gay marriage isn’t nationwide yet, but it seems to be coming.

Then we can work on a nationwide legalization of marijuana.

Progress, friends, progress.
