Debt Ceiling

I am not a Republican. I used to be, but I have since come to the conclusion that they are just as much a group of weasels as the Democrats in power are.

I still tend to side more with the Republicans in a lot of things, because a lot of their platform policies are similar to my beliefs, but I no longer call myself a Republican.

I think the fact that we even have such a thing as a “debt ceiling” is ridiculous. We are the great United States of America, we should never owe anyone anything.

Our children and grandchildren should never be saddled with the burden of a previous generation’s lack of fiscal responsibility.

The hypocrisy Obama is showing during this “government shutdown” situation is stunning.

He and his party of idiots and cheats are not wanting to negotiate with the Republicans unless the Republicans agree to saddle our children with even more debt than the already ridiculous and unsustainable amount of debt that we have now.

The Obama of yesteryear, however, when it was politically expedient for him he was very much against raising the debt ceiling, and had the following to say on March 16, 2006 at a Senate debate:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a Sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. …Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here’. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and Grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

Sounds awesome, almost sounds fiscally Conservative. The reason is, he was attacking the Republicans who were in power.

The moron Republicans voted overwhelmingly to raise the debt ceiling, and it was raised.

I’m sure the Republicans at the time swallowed whatever BS the GOP handed out to explain this debt increase, it was probably deemed necessary, even patriotic. And the Democrats and the DNC made it seem like a scoundrel thing to do, even though they have long been the party of “tax and spend” and increasing debt whenever they can.

In other words, they’re all the same group of assholes with different hats.

So, let this sink in while you’re at the next voting booth, deciding that a third party is a “wasted vote” and rationalizing how your guy is so much better than their guy. These people are whatever people they have to be at the moment to push forward an agenda that lines their pockets, exempts them from the same fiscal responsibilities and other responsibilities as you and I, and, above all, whatever keeps them reelected time and time again.

They’re all a bunch of cheats, liars and hypocrites. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is why I constantly say vote out each and every incumbent with absolutely no “sacred cow” exceptions, until we get a fresh group from top-to-bottom.

You don’t have to vote third party if that scares you, although we could really use a change from the same two teams that have been kicking the same tired old ball back and forth since the beginning of our country, but at least put in new Republicans and new Democrats. We need to instill a sense of fear in them, a sense of accountability; they need to know they can be recycled.

Right now they’re fearless, which is why they can vehemently oppose something one year, and support it strongly a year or three later, with a straight face and no sense of shame.

Miley (NSFW)

Miley Cyrus has been stumbling around all half-naked and stuff with her tongue hanging out quite a bit lately.

Recently, today in fact, I viewed some photos that were taken of her doing all sorts of naughtiness with her body-ness.

I like her nipples. But, I digress.

I think I can help.

A lot of people think she’s a bad person or something, or some kind of dirty tramp. I don’t. I do think, however, she could maybe use a little discipline to kind of help her to make better choices. Discipline perhaps in the form of a good spanking every now and again, and, friends, I’m a giver. I will gladly volunteer to do this job, because it needs to be done a certain way or it will just not be helpful at all.

My suggestion would be bare butt, nice open palm spankings on a semi-regular basis.

I’m only here to help, friends. A lot of people might want to try to take advantage of her seemingly poor lifestyle choices and lack of self control, but, again, I’m a giver.

Here’s a link to those photos so you can understand just what I mean: Click and smile.

Guarded and paranoid in the USA

On my personal Facebook page recently I posted a request for my friends to send me, in my inbox, a few pieces of information.

I asked for the email address they used and checked most frequently (because I know many people have numerous email address, I myself have like 13 or some ridiculous number), mailing address, current mobile phone number and birthday.

Back in the days before post, like, share, ignore, people used to know things about one another. We used to know how to visit each other, send each other Christmas cards and Birthday cards, how to actually fire off a simple email to one another, and how to call or text message one another.

We used to know when to send the aforementioned Birthday card.

Nowadays the media has whipped us into a frenzy, with one scare after another, everything from bird flu to computer viruses that will supposedly destroy our infrastructure and render us completely helpless.

It’s no wonder that I got simply ridiculous responses from my friends and family.

A small handful of people immediately responded with all or at least some of the information requested, no questions asked, boom, message to inbox.

Everyone else either ignored the thread entirely, posted smartass comments like “when did you start working for the government” or sent text messages with “is this really you or did you get hacked? You’re asking for all kinds of personal information.”

This really got me thinking.

For the most part, the people on my Facebook page, my personal one, are people I know in real life, some of whom I’ve known for many years, and these are all people I share mutual trust with. Or, I thought I did anyhow.

All of a sudden these same people regarded me with the skepticism one would use towards a stranger off the street.

This saddened me, and angered me a little bit.

There’s a reason no one gets Birthday cards or gifts from me, and usually just a “Happy Birthday” comment on Facebook. It’s not because I don’t care, trust me on that.

Our culture has become so jaded, cynical, skeptical and suspicious that a person cannot request from his own circle of friends simple information, which, by the way, is within the realm of “public information” and can be searched for easily with just a small amount of effort.

We’re concerned that the fluoride in our water is killing us, vaccinations are giving us Autism, radiation from phones are giving us cancer, someone may bring a “dirty bomb” across the border, we may get Swine Flu, Bird Flu, Monkey Flu, the government may throw us in a detention camp for indeterminate lengths of time without explanation, our calls, texts, emails, web traffic may be used against us, fear after fear after fear, some legitimate, others ridiculous, are being thrust into our heads day after day. It’s a wonder we’re not going nuts and killing each other, or ourselves; oh, wait, we are. It’s a wonder we’re not one of the most, if not THE most, heavily medicated country on the planet. Oh, wait, we are.

It’s a wonder other countries aren’t all like “hey, jeez man, lighten the fuck up already.” Oh, wait, they are.

So, I still have no idea when half of my friends and even family members’ birth dates are. I still have no idea what address to send a card to. And, you know what? I no longer care.

I’ll stick to the accepted norm of the obligatory wall post, or the “Like” or “Share” function and I guess I’ll have to be happy with that.

Autographs

Okay, this is awkward.
I was in a movie recently, and I’ve been in some short films, and I’m working on some new projects that will come out here in the near future as well.
Recently there have been a couple of occasions where people have asked me to autograph things (a poster and a couple of DVD cases).
I’ve always said if someone is a celebrity or actor or something and they don’t autograph stuff for people they’re dicks.
I sort of understand now, however, why some of them may choose not to or at least may not appear super stoked to do so.
My autograph sucks.
My signature sucks, and I use my same signature for autographing stuff as I would use for signing a check or a credit card, etc.
It’s basically just a dumb little squiggle that honestly doesn’t even resemble any letters or anything.
I suppose it kind of sort of begins like it might be trying to almost be part of an “r” but not even that, really.
If I asked me for my autograph, and then I signed that dumb little squiggle, I’d smack me.
So, last night a couple of attractive females asked me to sign their DVD cases of the badass zombie movie I’m in (I play a Giant Zombie Clown, it’s the shit, truly the shit). I told them I would happily do it, but that they really didn’t want my autograph because it’s just a stupid little squiggle.
They still wanted it.
So, when attractive females want something I give it to them.
You see what I did there?
But, I digress.
It was tremendously hard for them to hide their disappointment. Not even really sure they tried.
So, I guess I can add to the innuendo by saying “when attractive females ask me for something, I give it to them; and disappoint them.”
But, I further digress.
I suffer from “autograph envy” apparently.
So, being the kind and giving person I am, rather than just being all like “I don’t sign autographs” I am instead working aggressively to modify my signature.
It’s harder than it sounds, believe it or not.
I have gone through multiple sheets of paper now, and I have it down to something based on my initials (I hate writing my name in cursive, and printing it, even kind of artistically, seems dumb).
I thought of maybe incorporating a clown hat in there somewhere, because of the Giant Zombie Clown thing, but I’m not sure.
I am trying to do something legible, unique, and something that I can do quickly if I’m ever in the position to have to sign lots of stuff for lots of people.
So, to sum this up, if you ever plan to become famous you may want to start working on your autograph skills ahead of time; because this is turning into something of a Giant Zombie Pain In The Ass.

Stimulus Idea

Okay, before we go into this, let me be clear about one thing. I have never been one to suggest that our government spend money.

We send billions of dollars to countries that hate us, sell and give weapons to groups of people who end up using them against us, put embassies in places that we have no business having embassies in; and then don’t defend those embassies against attack, etc., but I digress.

There are an estimated 314 million (it was 313 point something, so I rounded up) people in The United States of America according to the 2012 Census numbers. The number of people who are over 18 years of age with valid Social Security Numbers is probably less, but I’m going to go with the 314 million number for this blog because I’m lazy and don’t feel like doing the research.

Since our government prints money like it’s going out of style and spends billions upon billions on nonsense, I see no reason why the following proposal shouldn’t be able to be implemented.

Why not divide a meager 1 billion dollars among every legal citizen with a valid Social Security Number who is over the age of 18?

This would be approximately 3.1 million dollars per person, if there were 314 million people receiving this money.

Obviously, there will be less people receiving the money but we’re not doing the research because this is just a blog and I can’t be bothered to do actual investigative journalism. Hell, the news media doesn’t even do that. If you said “follow the money” to the average journalist they would have no clue what you were talking about. All they are is parrots of the Associated Press and thus are mouthpieces for Obama, et al, and various corporations. And nothing more. But, again, I digress.

This would stimulate the ever-loving shit out of the economy, and it would be a drop in the bucket for a government that is already 17 trillion in debt and going deeper by the day. We’re already spending the money, on ridiculous crap overseas, why not help out our own people for a change?

I lost a sweet person from my life

I just learned, about two days ago, that someone very special to me passed away at the way-too-young age of 34.

Her name is Jackie, and she was the walking embodiment of the “burning your candle at both ends” expression. She was never still, never calm, never quiet.

A loyal and wonderful person, there isn’t anything she wouldn’t sacrifice or do for someone she cared about. And she cared about a lot of people. She had way more energy than one person should be able to physically contain.

She was able to take a few scraps of clothing, or even non-clothing items, and put together something fabulous. An awesome sense of style and creativity.

She was friendly, outgoing, funny and loving. Fiercely protective and loyal to those she loved.

Jackie, I hope you’re able to see how important you were to so many people. I don’t know if any of us really made that clear while you were alive.

Rest In Peace. Now you can finally relax and not worry about taking on the problems and needs of everyone around you.

48 Hour Film Project

In 2010 my friend Brett approached me and asked me if I wanted to be a part of the 48 Hour Film Project that his friend Rich was doing.

I was super stoked, and really thankful and happy to have been thought of and asked.

This was the first year Rich was doing it, and I was going to be part of the maiden voyage of Rich’s team.

So, we created a video called “Digging Deep” which was a hilarious mockumentary about exposed male butt-crack. Yes, you read correctly, exposed male butt-crack.

Here is a link to that particular video:

Digging Deep (2010)

Then, in 2011 my team did the project again and I was sadly unable to make it. The video that year was called The Door. Here is a link to that one:

The Door (2011)

I was then able to return and work on the 2012 video called “The Session” and a friend of mine named Otis was also able to be a part of it. Here’s a link to that one:

The Door (2012)

Last weekend we shot the 2013 video. I can’t share it yet, but as soon as I can I will be posting it as an “edit” on this post.

You guys will really dig this video, I laughed a lot. This is the first year I’ve been able to go and see the screening at the theater of one of our films. A lot of the videos from other teams were awesome as well, and I will share some of those too when they’re available.

So, anyhow, enjoy these and let me know what you think. An update with the new video will be showing up on here soon 🙂

Update! 🙂
